Meet the Fairowners: Brita, our Lead Product Owner

Our people are the X-factor helping us build a more sustainable future. By working as a strong team, we can offer brands, retailers, and banks the opportunity to transform their business and launch product as a service offerings.

Let’s get to know another fairowner who plays an important role - Brita, our Lead Product Owner. Brita joined Fairown, because she wanted to change the world - she liked the idea of building a solution that enables sustainable product renewals to extend a product’s lifetime value.

Tell us about your professional background.

Before joining Fairown as a Lead Product Owner, I used to work as a Software Engineer and Scrum Master in the banking and loans area. In addition, I’m currently working as a lecturer at Tallinn University of Technology, where I’m teaching programming in Python and Java - it has always been exciting for me. I’m also finishing my Master’s studies in Cyber Security.

Name some fun facts about yourself that we can’t find on your CV or social profile.

I like to bring variety into my life with arts and creativity, but at the same time, I can’t get past numbers:

  • I teach maths to high school students in my free time, and I have made my own maths workbook with over 250 exercises;

  • I love creating handmade wedding invitations, photo albums, cards, etc.;

  • I once held an art exhibition of my paintings;

  • I once read a 600+ page book in one day.

Why did you choose Fairown, what stood out for you?

Having previously worked only in a large corporate company, I wanted to gain experience in a start-up environment. I liked the idea of building a solution that enables sustainable product renewals to extend a product’s lifetime value, which is what Fairown does. I felt that I have the possibility of truly changing the world.

How has your onboarding process been?

My onboarding process has been great! I loved that everyone was friendly and quickly welcomed me to the team. I enjoyed the fact that at the end of my first week, I already had created my first technical documentation. I also love that our CEO Hendrik is taking all new employees out to lunch to get to know them better.

What drives and inspires you the most in your daily work?

The amazing people I work with, my daily challenges, and that my effort has a visible impact.

Where do you see yourself in a couple of years, what do you want to achieve at Fairown?

I want to improve my project and team management skills. As we grow and expand, I would like to have more responsibilities and to lead a bigger and more technical team in the future.
