For instance, the footprint of a refurbished laptop is estimated to be below 5% of the production footprint, i.e. the cost of making the same product from virgin materials. This makes refurbishing a viable and environmentally-friendly choice. It’s even better if refurbishing is agreed at the point when the new device is handed over to the consumer.
