Meet the Fairowners: Rain Oselin, our Junior Software Engineer

Today, we will tell you more about Rain Oselin, our Junior Software Engineer. He is a passionate photographer, who was drawn into Fairown by the opportunity to build an innovative fintech product. Fairown is his first office-job in the tech sector, and the fabulous team and exciting work make it worth it!

Tell us about your professional background.

For most of my professional career, I have been working in the hospitality sector at various positions from a Waiter to a Manager. Actually, I had never worked in an office prior to Fairown, so this was all pretty new to me.

Why did you choose Fairown, what stood out for you?

I think Fairown kind of chose me. During my studies, I sent my CV to many IT companies and got very few responses. Though, I managed to get a job interview at Fairown, and I was lucky to have been invited to join the team. I’m glad to have this opportunity to be part of something interesting and innovative.

Name some fun facts about yourself that we can’t find on your CV or social profile.

Well, I’m sure many of you didn’t know that:

  • I own multiple analog cameras, and I have developed over 500 rolls of film over the past 6 years;

  • I can cook an amazing crème brulée;

  • I enjoy going to a variety of pub quizzes.

What drives and inspires you the most in your daily work?

It’s very simple: the work itself and my fabulous colleagues. I like what I do, and my great Mentor inspires me to do better every day. Obviously, the people I work with are great. Not a day goes by without good jokes at the office.

Where do you see yourself and Fairown in a couple of years?

Right now, I’m mostly working on front-end tasks and improving my skills on that. Eventually, I’d like to move on to some back-end tasks. When it comes to Fairown, I believe there’s no limit to what we are capable of in the future.
